resize2fs: Filesystem has unsupported feature(s) while trying to open

[root@stagedb4 ~]# lvextend -L +10G /dev/mapper/vg00-opt

Extending logical volume opt to 59.77 GB

  Logical volume opt successfully resized

[root@stagedb4 ~]# resize2fs /dev/mapper/vg00-opt

resize2fs 1.39 (29-May-2006)

resize2fs: Filesystem has unsupported feature(s) while trying to open /dev/mapper/vg00-opt

Couldn't find valid filesystem superblock.

Solution:

Check if the filesystem is ext4

[root@stagedb4 ~]# mount | grep /dev/mapper/vg00-opt

/dev/mapper/vg00-opt on /opt type ext4 (rw)

Use resize4fs  for ext4 version.

[root@stagedb4 ~]# resize4fs /dev/mapper/vg00-opt

resize4fs 1.41.12 (17-May-2010)

Filesystem at /dev/mapper/vg00-opt is mounted on /opt; on-line resizing required

old desc_blocks = 4, new_desc_blocks = 4

Performing an on-line resize of /dev/mapper/vg00-opt to 15667200 (4k) blocks.

The filesystem on /dev/mapper/vg00-opt is now 15667200 blocks long.
